When September 2014 drawing to an end, a demonstration has been carried out by student federation in HK, later evolved into a massive demonstration movement. 87 tear gas grenades and pepper spray were fired at empty handed demonstrators. The defend-less demonstrators have only umbrella to shield themselves from the violent suppress act of riot police, hence named “Umbrella Revolution” or “Umbrella Movement”.
I was truly moved by the participant of the movement, how they fight for universal suffrage for HK, and how they tried to convey their message in non-violent manner. These are not the angry mob we used to see on news, no assaulting, car burning, glass breaking, nor shop plundering. They even clean up the trash produced and make classification for recycling. Respect!
As off today, the gov still refuse to dialogue with the citizen/demonstrators.
No matter what the outcome be, HK will never be the same.
