It’s a very unique, or rather funny, phenomena happened in Umbrella Revolution, Hong Kong. While the demonstrator sitting peacefully on street to protest against the government (demanding for universal suffrage), numbers of ‘challenger’ appeared. There are mainland-dialect-accented ‘citizens’, anti-protester (commonly known as blue ribbon, which is pro-gov), and even triad members who has brought along knife, constantly challenging the peaceful demonstrator. They shouted at the demonstrator, sworn and threw stuff at them, or tried tear down their barricade. These action is to provoke the protester to respond in physical conflict, as once violence happened, the police/gov will have reason/excuse to take the demonstrator down by force. However the demonstrator replied to the provokers with singing them birthday song. Eventually the ‘challengers’ submit to futility and dismissed.

P/S: as off the posting date, it’s the 17th day of the demonstration or Umbrella Revalution. News from hours ago reported that the police had taken down one of the occupied point, Lung Wo Rd. One protester was dragged aside to a dark alley, assaulted by six police.
